Iran's parliament has passed the death penalty for apostasy, which is viewed in that country as converting to any other faith than Islam.
Thousands of Iranians have been converting to Christianity, and the underground church is thriving, according to reports. But other Iranians are returning to Zoroastrianism, which was the dominant religion in Iran at one time. Jonathan Rocho, with International Christian Concern (ICC), explains.
"We, as a Christian organization, are very much concerned about this because this means many Christians who converted from Islam are going to face death, simply because of their decision to follow Jesus Christ," Rocho laments.
He says Iranians are questioning the Muslim faith after living under the regime, which has been dominated by the religion since the revolution in the 1970s. "They have not seen any change in their lives," Rocho adds. "There is even more repression, more problems going on in the country, so they are very much confused about the Islamic faith."
Already, two Christian converts accused of apostasy have been given the death penalty. Since Iran does not easily succumb to international pressure, Rocho urges people to pray.

After watching these videos, we hope you will ask yourself this question: What are we doing to protect the children from such pernicious nonsense? We hope the videos convince you that it's not enough to sit back, watch, and bemoan such indoctrination. Indeed, if, despite these videos, you believe the danger comes from outside of the West (e.g., from Islam), we think you need to think again!

Genocidal Racism Comes in All Colors The previous video ended in a reenactment; Here's the real thing, caught live!
DATELINE: February 17, 2017 (Democratic Republic of the Congo) - Grave images have emerged of a massacre of unarmed civilians in the Kasai by soldiers under the command of Joseph Kabila. The soldiers who speak Lingala and have FARDC outfits are here slaughtering the so-called militants of Kamwena Nsapu. It is a war crime, incontestably, and a crime against humanity. Here is the sequence of this massacre: The video begins with armed soldiers talking about the civilians: "They are not afraid to die; we will show them." The soldiers are walking and in front of them they have UNARMED CIVILIANS who believe in witchcraft. The myth is that they can not be killed by bullets. As the FARDC soldiers open fire on civilians, we hear them say, “Look, they are dying.” As they blasted the civilians, they add, “Watch how they get killed like animals.” After the initial volley, they go further and make sure that everyone is dead and does not fake their death. The soldiers saunter up to the wounded, blasting them in the head with assault rifles from a few feet away. Many of the victims look young; several are women. None carry guns. FARDC soldiers then exclaim, "Look that they have died that they are dead. Make sure they are all dead." Human rights activists said that the video was filmed by a Congolese government soldier who was part of the execution squad and that the soldier may have felt bad about what happened and leaked it to assuage his conscience. The camera was right behind the soldiers as they raised their rifles. The soldiers did not even take cover when they opened fire. Analysts said it was clear that the soldiers knew that their targets posed no threat. At least 13 bodies could be seen in the video.
The danger posed when crazy ideologues attain power—especially in today's nuclear world—cannot be overstated. Yet, the danger becomes doubly grave if fear causes us to overreact to the real threat posed by fundamentalist insanity with an equally simplistic world view that also ignores Reality. This enlightening, three-part documentary discusses the origins of modern day terrorism, and the use of fear as a political tool. This video series highlights the terrible danger in giving power to fundamentalists—regardless of whether their ideology is based on traditional religion, political dogma, or some combination of the two. When we choose to follow authoritarian ideologues rather than true leaders, we become like mythical lemmings marching into the sea.
